In a series of recent social media posts, Representative Henry Cuellar, who represents Texas’ 28th district in the U.S. Congress, shared insights from his meetings with various organizations and coalitions concerning energy, transportation, and agriculture. Cuellar, a graduate of Georgetown University and the University of Texas at Austin, has been serving in Congress since 2005 after replacing Ciro Rodriguez.
On April 30, 2025, Cuellar detailed his meeting with the American Clean Power Association. He stated, “This afternoon I met with the American Clean Power Association during their Advocacy Day to discuss concerns surrounding energy tax credits and the federal process for clean energy projects.” His tweet highlighted the critical role of the association in advancing clean energy technologies.
Later on the same day, he posted about his interaction with Joe Gage and the Laredo Economic Coalition for Improved Highway Exchanges. In his post, Cuellar shared, “Today I met with Joe Gage from the Laredo Economic Coalition for Improved Highway Exchanges to discuss future transportation projects in #TX28.” The focus was on infrastructure enhancements crucial to regional development, such as the connection between highways 59 and 359.
In another engagement, Cuellar met with Representative Tony Gonzales and members of the Texas Farm Bureau. Reflecting on this gathering, he tweeted, “I joined my colleague @RepTonyGonzales and members of the @TexasFarmBureau for a productive discussion about the top issues facing farmers and ranchers in #TX28.” He reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for legislative measures benefiting the agricultural sector.
As someone who has lived in Laredo, Texas all his life, Cuellar’s local roots and extensive political service underscore his engagement with regional issues. His discussions span essential topics affecting his constituency in Texas’ 28th District.
