Rep. Henry Cuellar, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 28th district, has been actively engaging with his constituents and addressing key issues through social media. His recent tweets highlight both community involvement and economic concerns impacting his district.

On May 19, Rep. Cuellar shared that his San Antonio Outreach Coordinator, Olivia Branson, attended a swearing-in ceremony in Universal City for newly elected council members Ashton Bulman, Bear Goolsby, and Christina Fitzpatrick. He expressed optimism about their future contributions to the community: “My San Antonio Outreach Coordinator, Olivia Branson, attended the swearing-in ceremony in Universal City…”

The following day, May 20, Rep. Cuellar addressed economic challenges faced by families in his district due to price increases announced by Walmart as a result of new tariffs: “Families across our district are working hard just to make ends meet…” He highlighted the burden these added costs would impose on communities like Laredo where financial resources are already stretched thin.

Henry Cuellar has served Texas’ 28th District since replacing Ciro Rodriguez in 2005. Prior to his congressional tenure, he was a member of the Texas House of Representatives from 1987 to 2001. Born in Laredo in 1955 and currently residing there at age 67, Cuellar is an alumnus of Georgetown University and holds a JD from the University of Texas at Austin.
