In a series of posts dated October 2, 2025, Cuellar highlighted concerns raised by local organizations and warned about potential disruptions to essential programs.
On October 2, 2025, Cuellar wrote, “I recently met with the Safer Path team to hear firsthand how recent funding cuts are affecting their ability to provide services like crisis response, safe housing, counseling, and advocacy for survivors and their families. Later that day, Cuellar addressed broader concerns about federal funding interruptions: “The government shutdown is going to affect communities nationwide. Henry Cuellar has represented his district through several election cycles. Most recently in 2024, he won re-election against Jay Furman with 52.8% of the vote.
