On May 20, Cuellar attended an Oversight Hearing focused on National Guard and Reserve Forces. Later that day, Cuellar participated in a Homeland Security hearing where he met with TSA Acting Administrator Ha McNeill. The discussion centered around the rollout of new screening technology at airports. On May 21, Representative Cuellar announced securing over $116 million in preliminary federal education funding for schools within Texas’ 28th district. He highlighted this as an investment benefiting teachers and students alike across South Texas. “I’m proud to announce I’ve secured over $116 million in preliminary federal education funding for #TX28 schools… It’s an investment in teachers, classrooms, and the future of South Texas.”
Henry Cuellar was born in Laredo, Texas in 1955 and currently resides there. His academic background includes a BA from Georgetown University obtained in 1978 and a JD from the University of Texas at Austin earned in 1981.
