On the same day, Cuellar reported on a productive meeting with leaders from Coparmex—Mexico’s leading employers’ federation. He stated: “I had a productive conversation today with senior leaders from @Coparmex – Mexico’s leading employers’ federation. I emphasized the importance of U.S.-Mexico trade, improving cross-border infrastructure, and advancing nearshoring under USMCA.” His focus was on strengthening economic ties between the United States and Mexico.

Henry Cuellar was born in Laredo, Texas in 1955 and has been an influential political figure since replacing Ciro Rodriguez in Congress in 2005. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Texas House of Representatives for over a decade starting in 1987. A graduate of Georgetown University and holder of a JD from the University of Texas at Austin, Cuellar continues to reside in Laredo.
