Later that day, Cuellar took a moment during the Congressional Baseball Game to express camaraderie with his team. He posted at 4:08 PM UTC about enjoying time with his staff and interns while also indicating a return to legislative duties soon after. His message read: “Taking a quick break at the Congressional Baseball Game with my amazing staff and interns. After the last pitch, it’s back to Appropriations! “
In another update on June 12th at 4:28 PM UTC, Cuellar discussed his contributions as part of the Appropriations Committee. He announced securing substantial funding for telehealth initiatives nationwide and technological investments for veterans in rural areas. His tweet mentioned: “As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I fought for language to secure $5.5 billion to strengthen telehealth and connected care across the country and in #TX28, along with $10 million to invest in new technologies that support veterans in rural communities.”
Henry Cuellar has served in Congress since replacing Ciro Rodriguez in 2005 after previously serving in the Texas House of Representatives from 1987 until 2001.
