Rep. Henry Cuellar, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 28th district, shared updates on his recent engagements through social media posts.
On June 11, 2025, Cuellar reported meeting with UMOS, Inc. on behalf of the National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Association (NMSHSA). The discussion centered around “the essential work being done to uplift migrant and seasonal farmworker families through early childhood education and services that meet the unique demands of agricultural life.” “These programs ensure children have a” bright future.
Later that day, he highlighted his Laredo Outreach Coordinator, Melissa Peña’s attendance at the Phase 2 Groundbreaking Ceremony for Three Points Village by Northwest Laredo. This initiative aims to build affordable homes for local families. Cuellar expressed pride in securing federal funding for this project: “an impactful initiative to build affordable homes for hardworking families in our community.”
On June 12, Cuellar participated in the Border Alliance’s 11th annual conference titled “Building a Competitive US-Mexico Border,” held jointly with The Dialogue. He spoke alongside Héctor J. Cerna, President and CEO of IBC Bank, and Rep. Greg Stanton: “It was great to join Héctor J. Cerna…and my friend and colleague @RepGregStanton on stage.”
Henry Cuellar has been serving Texas’ 28th District since replacing Ciro Rodriguez in 2005 after serving in the Texas House of Representatives from 1987 to 2001.
