Rep. Henry Cuellar, representing Texas’ 28th district in the U.S. Congress since 2005, recently shared insights from his activities and engagements via social media. On May 8, 2025, he provided updates on his involvement in legislative proceedings and community outreach efforts.
On May 8, 2025, Cuellar participated in a House Appropriations Homeland Security hearing where he engaged with Acting FEMA Administrator Cam Hamilton. During the discussion, he highlighted the essential role of FEMA in aiding states during disasters and emphasized the need for effective performance measures to ensure optimal support. “At today’s House Appropriations Homeland Security hearing, I spoke with Acting @fema Administrator Cam Hamilton about the critical functions of FEMA in regards to supporting states when they face disasters. Later that day, Cuellar expressed his pride in hosting Santiago Cardenas as “#CongressmanForADay,” accompanied by Santiago’s mother Stephanie Cardenas and godmother Monica Alejandra Lopez. Henry Cuellar has been an active member of Congress since replacing former Congressman Ciro Rodriguez in 2005. His career also includes service in the Texas House of Representatives from 1987 to 2001.
