The following day, he described participating in a local event to raise awareness about domestic violence. On October 4, 2025, he posted: “This morning in Laredo, I joined local leaders as the Mayor issued a proclamation recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Later that same morning at Laredo City Hall, Cuellar honored Judge Oscar O. Martinez Sr., sharing: “This morning at Laredo City Hall, I presented a Congressional Record honoring Judge Oscar O. Martinez Sr. for a lifetime dedicated to service, faith, and family. From his time in the U.S. Air Force to 24 years as Justice of the Peace for Precinct Four, Judge Martinez served https://t.co/5spFw4fr2x”.
Henry Cuellar has represented Texas’s 28th congressional district for several terms and has consistently won re-election since 2014 against various opponents including Will Alkens (2014), Zeffen Hardin (2016), Arthur Thomas (2018), Sandra Whitten (2020), Cassy Garcia (2022), and Jay Furman (2024). His most recent victory was over Jay Furman in 2024 with a margin of approximately five percentage points.
