U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar shared updates on community engagement and federal investment in his district through a series of posts on November 5, 2025. The tweets highlighted local events attended by his staff and discussions with Texas agricultural representatives.

In one post, Cuellar wrote, “My Laredo Outreach Coordinator, Melissa Peña, attended the dedication of the library at Don Jose Gallego Elementary School in memory of Guadalupe “Lupita” Cortez, who was a classmate of mine. Mrs. Cortez devoted 36 years of service to the Laredo Independent School District,” on November 5, 2025.

Another tweet from the same day focused on agricultural issues: “This morning, I met with Texas members of @farmcredit to discuss the role they play in supporting rural America, the importance of access to markets, and the need to bring input costs down to help our farmers and ranchers. We discussed how Farm Credit provides financing to” (November 5, 2025).

Henry Cuellar has served as a U.S. Representative for several terms and has consistently won re-election since at least 2014. In recent election cycles, he defeated Jay Furman in 2024 with approximately 52.8% of the vote and Cassy Garcia in 2022 with about 56.65%. Previous victories include wins over Sandra Whitten in 2020 (58.3%), Arthur Thomas in 2018 (84.4%), Zeffen Hardin in 2016 (66.2%), and Will Alkens in 2014 (82.1%).
