Henry Cuellar has represented Texas’s 28th district in Congress since 2005 after succeeding Ciro Rodriguez. Before his congressional service, he was a member of the Texas House of Representatives from 1987 to 2001. Born in Laredo in 1955 and currently residing there at age 67, Cuellar holds degrees from Georgetown University and the University of Texas at Austin.
