On August 7, Cuellar reflected on the centennial celebration of the Franciscan Friars in Hebbronville. He wrote, “Yesterday evening, I attended a ceremony celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Franciscan Friars of Hebbronville and their century of faithful service to Jim Hogg County. Henry Cuellar has represented his district through multiple election cycles; most recently in 2024 he defeated Jay Furman with 52.8% of the vote compared to Furman’s 47.2%. In prior years he also prevailed over Cassy Garcia (2022), Sandra Whitten (2020), Arthur Thomas (2018), Zeffen Hardin (2016), and Will Alkens (2014). These consistent electoral victories underscore his longstanding role as a congressional representative for South Texas.
