In a post from July 23, Cuellar wrote: “My Laredo Outreach Coordinator, Melissa Peña, presented Congressional Certificates of Recognition to two outstanding teams at Laredo Medical Center, the ICU unit and the dedicated team on Floor 5C. Later that day, Cuellar shared details of a meeting with advocates for independent living services: “Today I had the privilege of meeting with Dr. Lidia Fonseca, Executive Director of VAIL Center for Independent Living, and other dedicated VAIL advocates – including representatives from Laredo – to discuss the critical importance of independent living services across South https://t.co/P0jq0cVYRt”.

Henry Cuellar has represented Texas’s 28th District in Congress since replacing Ciro Rodriguez in 2005. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Texas House of Representatives from 1987 to 2001. Born in Laredo in 1955 and currently residing there, Cuellar holds degrees from Georgetown University (BA) and the University of Texas at Austin (JD).
