Representative Henry Cuellar, currently serving Texas’s 28th district in the U.S. Congress, shared several personal and political moments on April 21, 2025, through posts on his social media. Known for his long-standing political career beginning with the Texas House of Representatives in 1987, Cuellar highlighted both his personal experiences and critical views on economic policies.

On April 21, 2025, Representative Cuellar expressed his condolences on the passing of Pope Francis. He wrote, “Today, I join with millions in mourning the passing of Pope Francis, the true embodiment of compassion, humility, and unity. I had the profound honor of meeting him twice—once with my wife Imelda and again with my daughter Christina. He was remarkably humble when I spoke to him.”

Later that day, Cuellar shared about his Easter weekend spent with loved ones. According to his statement, “Celebrated Easter weekend surrounded by family, friends, and the peaceful beauty of a Webb County ranch—grateful for family, great food, and even better memories!”

Cuellar also voiced his concerns about economic policies in a separate post. His comment read, “Let’s be clear: Tariffs are not the right medicine. They’re making things worse. April was the worst market drop since 1932! Working families and seniors are now watching their savings disappear. It’s time we work together to find a bipartisan solution.”

Henry Cuellar, 67, has represented Texas’s 28th District since 2005, taking over from Ciro Rodriguez. Born in Laredo, Texas, he continues to reside there. His educational credentials include a BA from Georgetown University and a JD from the University of Texas at Austin.
