On May 4, 2025, Rep. Cuellar tweeted about attending the 32nd Annual Fishing Derby at Lake Casa Blanca International State Park. He described it as an event that “celebrates and supports our amazing community of kids and young adults with special needs.” Cuellar emphasized the day was filled with “smiles, fishing, friendship.”
Later that day, Cuellar announced via another tweet that he presented a Congressional Certificate of Recognition at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Ceviche76 in Laredo. In his post from May 4, 2025, he expressed enthusiasm for this new addition to the local dining scene by saying it “brings fresh flavors and vibrant energy to the community” Tweet.

Henry Cuellar has served in Congress since replacing Ciro Rodriguez in 2005. Born in Laredo in 1955, he has deep ties to Texas’ political landscape through his previous tenure in the Texas House of Representatives from 1987 to 2001.
