Henry Cuellar has represented Texas’s 28th district in the U.S. Congress since 2005 after succeeding Ciro Rodriguez. He previously served in the Texas House of Representatives from 1987 to 2001. Born in Laredo in 1955 and currently residing there at age 67, Cuellar earned his BA from Georgetown University in 1978 and later received a JD from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981.
