Rep. Henry Cuellar, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 28th district since 2005, recently shared his thoughts and activities through several posts on social media.
On June 7, 2025, Rep. Cuellar expressed his commitment to protecting Medicare in a tweet, stating: “Nearly 20% of Americans rely on Medicare. It’s a lifeline, not a line item.” He further declared his opposition to any legislation that would increase the national deficit by three trillion dollars while reducing care for seniors.
In another post made later the same day, Rep. Cuellar took the opportunity to commend his spring and summer interns for their dedication to public service. He wrote: “I’m proud to recognize our incredible spring and summer interns! Your energy, passion, and commitment to public service are inspiring,” listing the names of several interns including Mauricio Gutierrez and Chloe Ferrer.
Henry Cuellar was born in Laredo, Texas in 1955 and has spent much of his life serving the public both at state and federal levels. He holds degrees from Georgetown University and the University of Texas at Austin.
