Washington, DC – On July 26, U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) hosted a webinar to discuss energy funding and consumer tax incentives with the U.S. Department of Energy. Assistant Director of Technical Assistance and Partnerships Michael Forrester and Policy Analyst John Agan discussed a wide range of funding opportunities for South Texas residents. The webinar focused on funding opportunities made possible by last year’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which is the single largest investment in climate and energy in American history. The IRA includes tax provisions to save families money on energy bills and funding to improve electric services in rural areas.

“One of my priorities in Congress is to improve our economy and quality of life by attracting more federal funds to our region. Today, we heard from the Department of Energy and the great resources they have to offer,” said Congressman Cuellar. “Last year, I voted for the IRA to make energy funding and consumer tax incentives more available for South Texans. We’re seeing the results of that today. Thank you to Michael Forrester and John Agan from the U.S. Department of Energy for taking the time to share opportunities with residents of the 28th Congressional District of Texas. I look forward to continuing our work to deliver for South Texas working families.”
