U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar shared a series of updates on social media highlighting recent engagements with his constituents and local leaders in Texas, focusing on education, arts recognition, and infrastructure improvements.

On August 19, 2025, Cuellar described his visit to the SCOTUS College in Hebbronville: “Yesterday, I visited the SCOTUS College in Hebbronville for a tour with members of the Lamar Bruni Trust, along with local community and religious leaders who are working to renovate the building. We explored the campus, visited the beautiful chapel beside it, and toured the” (posted August 19, 2025).

Later that day, he recognized individuals contributing to the arts in his district. Cuellar wrote: “Yesterday afternoon, I had the pleasure of presenting Congressional Recognitions to two remarkable individuals. Jorge Javier López was honored for his incredible contributions to the arts in our community, and Maritza Bautista, the founding executive director of the Daphne Art” (posted August 19, 2025).

The following day, on August 20, Cuellar posted about participating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for new transportation infrastructure: “Yesterday, I joined community leaders and residents in San Diego for the ribbon cutting of the new Tovar Street Bridge and to celebrate major improvements along SH 359, both made possible through significant federal investments to improve safety, mobility, and quality of life in” (posted August 20, 2025).

Henry Cuellar has represented Texas’s 28th congressional district since 2005. He has maintained consistent electoral support over several election cycles. In recent elections he defeated Jay Furman in 2024 by winning approximately 52.8% of votes; previous victories include contests against Cassy Garcia in 2022 (56.65%), Sandra Whitten in 2020 (58.3%), Arthur Thomas in 2018 (84.4%), Zeffen Hardin in 2016 (66.2%), and Will Alkens in 2014 (82.1%).
