Rep. Henry Cuellar, a U.S. Congressman from Texas, recently shared updates on his official Twitter account highlighting community safety, honoring local educators, and commemorating the anniversary of the Kabul airport attack.

On August 25, 2025, Rep. Cuellar posted about a joint event with local officials to address border security concerns. He wrote: “This morning, I held a press conference with Mayor Victor Treviño, the Laredo Police Department, the Webb County Sheriff’s Office, Chief Miguel Rodriguez, and our constables to reaffirm what families along the border already know: our communities are among the safest in America.”

In another post dated August 26, 2025, Rep. Cuellar recognized an influential figure in education within his district: “Recently, my Outreach Coordinator, Toro Martinez, joined the Harlandale ISD Board of Trustees to present a Congressional Recognition honoring the late Coach Sylvia Cardenas.

Later that day on August 26, 2025, he marked a solemn anniversary: “Today marks four years since the tragic day when 13 brave U.S. soldiers gave their lives during the Kabul airport attack, including our own Lance Corporal David Lee Espinoza of Rio Bravo.

Lance Cpl. Espinoza was just 20 years old, a graduate of Lyndon B. Johnson High School,”

Henry Cuellar has served as U.S. Representative for Texas’s 28th congressional district for several terms and has consistently secured reelection against various opponents over the past decade. In recent elections he won against Jay Furman in 2024 by a margin of approximately five percentage points; previous victories include contests against Cassy Garcia in 2022 and Sandra Whitten in 2020—demonstrating sustained support within his district.

His recent posts reflect ongoing engagement with both community safety initiatives and efforts to honor those who have contributed to or sacrificed for his constituents.
