Rep. Henry Cuellar, currently serving in the U.S. Congress, representing Texas’ 28th district, shared highlights from a series of recent engagements in Texas. Cuellar, who has been in Congress since 2005 after replacing Ciro Rodriguez, used his social media platform to provide updates on his activities over the past week.
On April 12, Cuellar recounted an evening spent with his wife, Imelda, at the Fiesta Kickoff Celebration held at the San Antonio Zoo. He described the event as a memorable occasion, stating, “Last night, my wife Imelda and I had a wonderful time at the Fiesta Kickoff Celebration at the San Antonio Zoo! We enjoyed saying hello to everyone, listening to great live music, and catching some amazing performances.”
In another tweet from the same day, Cuellar detailed their participation in the Poteet Strawberry Festival Parade. He observed the festive atmosphere, writing, “Today, my wife Imelda and I had an amazing time at the Poteet Strawberry Festival Parade! The streets were alive with music, pageantry, and vibrant entertainment as the community came together to celebrate this beloved tradition.”
Two days later, on April 14, Cuellar engaged in an international panel discussion on trade and tariffs. He noted the presence of several other prominent figures, expressing his honor to join, “It was an honor to take part in an international panel discussion on trade and tariffs alongside an exceptional group of leaders and experts.” The panel featured notable participants such as Dr. Victor Treviño, Mayor of Laredo, and Dr. Minerva “Minita” Ramirez, President of Laredo College.
Henry Cuellar, 67, born in Laredo, Texas, graduated from Georgetown University in 1978 with a BA, and earned a JD from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981. He currently resides in Laredo where he also previously served in the Texas House of Representatives from 1987 to 2001.
