Rep. Henry Cuellar, a U.S. Congressman from Texas, shared updates on recent public engagements and community initiatives through a series of social media posts in April 2026.
On April 14, Cuellar reported that his outreach coordinator attended a local event in Rio Grande City: “My Rio Grande City Outreach Coordinator, Robert Bazan, attended @CityofRGC’s State of the City event on my behalf, where Mayor Falcon and City Commissioners shared updates on ongoing projects and community improvements. The event provided a strong overview of the city’s progress” (April 14, 2026).
Later that day, he posted about his participation as a speaker at an energy summit: “I was honored to be recognized this afternoon as a distinguished speaker at the @hie_tweet Summit, where I spoke about meeting rising demand and keeping energy costs low for families. In South Texas, energy isn’t an abstract debate. It’s part of everyday life. It’s jobs. It’s” (April 14, 2026).
On April 15, Cuellar acknowledged the work of emergency dispatchers during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week: “During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we take time to recognize the professionals who serve as the ‘first, first responders’ in emergencies. Every day, 911 dispatchers answer critical calls, coordinate police, fire, and EMS response, and provide life-saving” (April 15, 2026).
Henry Cuellar has represented his district through multiple election cycles. In the most recent general election in 2024 he won against Jay Furman with approximately 52.8% of the vote to Furman’s 47.2%. In previous elections dating back to 2014 he consistently secured victories over various opponents with significant margins.
