On April 22, 2025, Rep. Cuellar acknowledged Earth Day 2025 through a tweet revealing that his San Antonio Outreach Coordinator, Jesus Martinez, presented a Congressional Certificate of Recognition to Charlie Blank, Director and Founder of River Aid San Antonio. Blank was recognized for organizing over 5,000 volunteers for environmental clean-up efforts.
The following day, Cuellar addressed the recent passing of Pope Francis. In a tweet dated April 23, 2025, Cuellar mentioned that Jesus Martinez joined Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, Auxiliary Bishop Michael Boulette, and local community members for a special Mass at San Fernando Cathedral in remembrance of His Holiness.
Later on April 23, 2025, Rep. Cuellar shared his involvement in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Maria E. Benavides Park, as conveyed in a tweet. The event was attended by Mayor Dr. Victor Treviño, Council Members Ricardo Rangel Jr., Melissa Cigarroa, Gilbert Gonzalez, and Marcela Cervantes, Assistant Director of Community Development.
Henry Cuellar has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2005, following his tenure in the Texas House of Representatives from 1987 to 2001. Cuellar, 67, originally from Laredo, Texas, graduated from Georgetown University in 1978 and earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981.
