Laredo Police Department issued the following announcement on Oct. 28.
Last night at approximately 11:30 P.M. a 911 call reported an armed confrontation outside an establishment at the 9800 block of McPherson. Officers spotted a suspect vehicle leaving the area heading south on McPherson. Occupants of the vehicle threw out a gun from the fleeing automobile near International and McPherson. Officers stopped the car at the 500 block of Fenwick where the occupants proceeded to run from the officers. Officers were able to detain the driver and the passenger who were later identified as Anthony Jerome Barragan, age 23 and Andres Alberto Rodriguez, age 20, who were arrested and charged with Evading Arrest with a Vehicle F/3, Evading Arrest C/A, and Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm by Felon. No injuries were reported in this incident. Officers recovered 2 guns as evidence
