Of the 65,568 citizens living in Starr County in 2021, 67% were old enough to vote, equating to 43,958 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 21,240 were male, constituting 48.3%, and 22,718 were female, making up 51.7%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Starr County during 2021 was lower than the state average, which stands at 74.2%.
