Henry Cuellar highlights school award and energy summit discussions

Rep. Henry Cuellar, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 28th district since 2005, recently shared several updates on social media regarding notable achievements and events. Born in Laredo, Texas, in 1955, Cuellar has a long-standing career in public service and holds degrees from Georgetown University and the University of Texas at Austin.

On February 5, 2025, Rep. Cuellar extended his congratulations to F.J. Scott Elementary School for receiving the prestigious "2024 National Blue-Ribbon Award". This recognition is given to schools based on their overall academic excellence or progress in closing achievement gaps.

Later that day, he marked National Girls and Women in Sports Day by celebrating the role of sports in empowering women and girls. As a father of two daughters, he expressed pride in those who participate in athletics. He noted that "athletics build confidence" among participants.

Additionally, Rep. Cuellar met with José Pérez, President of Hispanics in Energy. They discussed the upcoming Energy Legislative Summit as well as recent developments within the energy sector. He expressed optimism about future collaborations following this meeting on February 5.
