Cuellar stated: "Today, I had the pleasure of meeting with the Guatemalan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Ramiro Martínez and Guatemalan Ambassador to the United States, Hugo Beteta. During our meeting, we discussed the importance of Guatemalan-American relationship. Cuellar tweeted about his discussions with local organizations focused on infrastructure and safety: "This morning I met with Andrew Carranco, Frank Rotnofsky, Joe Cutrufo, and Peggy Charlet Brimhall from Able City, Bike Houston, and Bike Texas. We discussed their ongoing work to make our roads safer for everyone and revitalizing historic buildings in our hometown of Laredo."
