Henry Cuellar presents recognition at Iglesia Cristiana Misericordia's anniversary

Rep. Henry Cuellar, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 28th district, shared updates on recent community engagements through his social media platform. On March 17, 2025, Rep. Cuellar expressed his honor in presenting a Congressional Recognition to Pastor Gilberto Velez and Iglesia Cristiana Misericordia for their three decades of service. He noted the church's role as "a beacon of faith, love, and service," spreading its message throughout the community. "I was honored to present a Congressional Recognition to Pastor Gilberto Velez and Iglesia Cristiana Misericordia in celebration of the church’s 30th anniversary."

Later that day, Cuellar attended the church's anniversary service with his wife Imelda and Texas State Representative Richard Raymond. They continued the celebration at Palenque Grill where they enjoyed a meal together. "It was a true pleasure for my wife Imelda and I to attend the 30th anniversary church service at Iglesia Cristiana Misericordia."

On March 18, Cuellar reflected on an event honoring an extraordinary young man surrounded by family and friends. He praised this individual's courage, strength, and kindness which have left a positive impact on those around him. "Earlier today, I had the privilege of celebrating an extraordinary young man."
