A new COVID-19 Deferred Payment Plan has been established by the City of Laredo Utilities Department to help residents financially impacted by the pandemic.

"The payment plan will divide the remaining account balance into six monthly installments, or 12 monthly installments if the balance is over $500." the City of Laredo said in a press release. "Under the plan, residents must first pay the last month’s current charges."

When residents submit last month's payment, they will submit the plan agreement and continue to pay a monthly bill plus the monthly deferred installment. The agreement plan can be found online, or picked up in person at the City Hall Annex or the Utilities Department Main office.

"In addition to this, the Utilities Relief Assistance Program remains available for residents," the city said.

More information about the payment plan can be found by calling the Utilities Department Customer Service line at 956-721-2000.
