A new COVID-19 Deferred Payment Plan has been established by the City of Laredo Utilities Department to help residents financially impacted by the pandemic.
The Economic Development Administration has released $7.2 million in CARES Act funding to 12 economic development agencies across Texas to provide assistance grants to small businesses to help them survive the COVID-19 pandemic, with the South Texas Development Council in Laredo receiving $400,000.
South Texas Development Council has received $550,000 in federal funds from the Economic Development Administration's CARES Act Recovery Assistance program, which will help the STDC allocate Revolving Loan Funds to small businesses in that area.
