Webb County schools enrollment of gifted and talented students is 9,255 students in the 2020-2021 school year

Hs test 09

Webb County schools enrolled 9,255 students who were identified as being gifted and talented during the 2020-2021 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

This is a 9.5% increase over the previous school year.

Of the 66,429 students enrolled in Webb County schools, 13.9% of them were considered to be gifted and talented.

Webb County enrolled the 13th highest number of gifted and talented students among Texas counties.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
