3 schools across Jim Hogg County welcome 1,142 students in 2020-2021 school year

Jim Hogg County enrolled 1,142 students in the 2020-2021 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

This is 11 fewer than the year before.

Jim Hogg County was ranked 194th in enrollment among Texas counties.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
