Jim Hogg County ISD Education: 1,078 students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 1,078 students enrolled in Jim Hogg County ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 5.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 52.2% of them were boys, and 47.8% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 97.3% of the Jim Hogg County ISD total enrollment.

Jim Hogg County ISD roughly covers schools within Jim Hogg County with its main office in Hebbronville.

Among the three schools in Jim Hogg County ISD, Hebbronville Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 514 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
